I make many of the skirts I wear and am always redesigning clothing somehow. I figured that my gown for the pageant should be no different.

My Gown for the Pageant
I make many of the skirts I wear and am always redesigning clothing somehow. I figured that my gown for the pageant should be no different.
First I decided to make my gown from two different patterns to get the look that I wanted. I also wanted to use fabric that had been recycled or a dress that I could refashion. Then I got lucky and found a lovely wedding gown at the Idaho Youth Ranch.
Debra, the manager at the Idaho Youth Ranch on Overland was awesome about helping me out. I got great customer service (there were two people looking in back stock for me) so I could find the perfect dress for my project.
The dress will not look like this when I am done!
(Yes, I know that this sounds very much like Pretty in Pink!)
